Acoustic Insulation

One of our best suppliers TAP Acoustic have recently launched a new product for applying acoustic insulation to soil pipes and ductwork, this product is called Muftilag R, this product is unique to the market as TAP have developed and stabilised rock mineral wool and have then stiched it to a heavy mass barrier mat, using their new TAP-zigzag quilting design. This acoustic insulation is available in various weights ranging from 5.3kg/m2 up to 14.5kg/m2, so whatever the requirement be it to combat high or low frequency noise, this unique product can suit the application.

Muftilag R acoustic insulation is manufactured using a special Rockwool product, which is stitch quilted using the unique zigzag quilting process, which guarantees that the product will not fall apart or delaminate, and also prevents fibre migration.

The barrier mat that is used in this acoustic insulation is a newly developed product that will allow the Muftilag R to be applied to pipework as small as 50mm diameter which is almost unheard of in the acoustic market.

Typical applications for this product are ducting, high pressure pipes, engine & plant room pipes, compressor & turbine insulation, and it is also suitable for the acoustic insulation of domestic soil pipes to reduce sound transfer around the house.
